Greetings from the Stone Harbor Museum!

I hope this letter finds you well. Here at the Stone Harbor Museum, we are wrapping up a busy year of exciting exhibits, informative Speaker Talks, a Vintage House contest, and the ever-popular Scavenger Hunt! Pictures from our friend Harlan Radford continue to delight our followers on Facebook.  The annual Risley Gala in August was a fun and lively evening spent mingling with friends and supporters of the Museum. Our first-ever House Tour of the Pebbles Beach House was a wonderful experience visiting a Stone Harbor landmark. Contributions from SHPOA’s 5K Run/Walk were both a generous and welcome surprise. Clearly, there is much love in Stone Harbor for the Museum.

From Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day, the Museum was open six days a week, and it was a busy season highlighting the unique heritage of Stone Harbor! Visits to the Museum continued to increase, with 1,892 patrons stopping by to enjoy the Museum, the largest number of visits in any year since the Museum opened.

It is that time of year when we turn to our Museum supporters and ask for their contributions to our Capital campaign. Our goal is to pay down our mortgage debt, which is our only debt and has been our focus for several years now. By eliminating this debt, we can allocate more funds towards improving exhibits, displays, and research. Your support will help us achieve our mission and continue to offer an exceptional experience to our visitors.

It is due to your generosity that our museum has expanded into a place where everyone can visit for free and relive the history of Stone Harbor. Whether you have lived here for years, just a few, or have enjoyed vacations on the island, you are an important part of Stone Harbor’s rich history. We need your ongoing support to help preserve and share the story of Stone Harbor.
