This large market building would later become known as “Mammy Diller’s variety store.” In addition, the Stone Harbor Post Office was housed here from 1932 until a new and the current postal facility was built in the 1950s. Centrally located and situated at the corner of 95th Street and Second Avenue behind the borough water tower on as many as 4 connected lots numbered 71, 73, 75 & 77, block 94 (size 110 x 110), this building consisted of a large storefront with stockroom, fixtures, etc. on the first floor.
