PICTURE OF THE DAY No. 127 – “A GROUP OF TEENAGERS AT THE SHELTER HAVEN DOCK, STONE HARBOR, N. J. – 1946”

How about a change of pace?  Surely there are times when some photos do not need or require much description.  Here is such a photo taken in 1946 that we might agree basically speaks for itself.  Hopefully some of our viewing audience will know the names of some or all of these 8 young people and will provide such information using the comments feature provided.  If nothing else, these seemingly happy and healthy looking youngsters will convey to us the fun times that could be had in the summertime in Stone Harbor.  What a joy it is for us to feast our eyes on these young people who have their lives ahead of them.  On a positive note, the Second World War is over and Americans and the world look to the restoration of world peace.  And yes, that letter sweater worn by the young man on the far right is totally classic and certainly in tune with the times.  As the author of this account, I can certainly remember my own high school varsity letter jackets and sweaters from the time of my youth in the 1950s.
