This photo features the Birdsall Water-Front Bungalow located on Carnival Bay in Stone Harbor, N. J.

According to an undated real estate advertising brochure, the following information was given for this very property:  “104th Street, on lot 130, directly on Carnival Bay, 5 rooms and bath (2 bedrooms) on first floor, large room on second floor accommodates 2 beds, open fireplaces (see 2 chimneys).  Sale price, $2600.”

This charming little bungalow as you can see was elevated and what was fairly common had both a large front porch and a smaller porch in the rear.  Such houses were becoming much more common as Stone Harbor really underwent a phase of more rapid development.
