Picture of the Day No. 26 – Railroader and popular Stone Harbor resident Harry Clark in 1920

No. 26

Here we observe Harry Clark standing at 96th Street in Stone Harbor.  Dressed in his uniform, Harry stops for just a moment to have his picture taken and then most likely has to report for duty as a brakeman or conductor working for the Pennsylvania Railroad.  The year is 1920

and the trains linking Stone Harbor with the mainland will continue carrying passengers and freight for just a few more years.  The impressive house in the background is none other than “The Pebbles” located at the corner of 94th Street and First Avenue.
