This 1913 photo shows the popular Briegel’s Bakery located in what would soon become Stone Harbor’s downtown business district and situated at the northwest corner of 96th Street and Third Avenue just across the street from the new Shelter Haven Hotel.  Many a vintage post card was printed in the 1910s as well as the 1920s showing this particular area and the developing stores and emerging structures that would be built and opened for business as the resort really put down roots and started to grow.
