Another recently discovered real estate ad placed in 1916 offers the following descriptive information about the 4-year old Shelter Haven Hotel: “96th Street and 3rd Avenue, overlooking the Shelter Haven Yacht Basin.  Stone Harbor’s largest hotel.  Has 32 bedrooms, large, light dining room, wide porches, grotto, private pier, electric lights, steam heat, all conveniences.  Moderate rates.  Open all year”.
