This photograph, taken at Stone Harbor sometime in the latter 1920s, shows 4 women posing in an amusing fashion for a moment by re-enacting the driving of a Stone Harbor Terminal Railroad Company trolley car.  While no longer in active service at the time of this photo, this very S.H.T.R.R.CO. trolley used to operate and provide electric rail service between Cape May Court House and Stone Harbor from 1912 into the early 1920s.  Here the dilapidated trolley serves as inspiration for a great photo opportunity as well as a sad reminder of the glory days of this type of passenger service.  This out-of-service railroad equipment epitomizes the effect that the advent of the automobile and new highway construction had on the discontinuance of railroad service at Stone Harbor.
